Frequently asked questions

Practical information

Have a question? The answer may already be here.

Below you will find the answers to the questions we are asked most often, both before booking and during your stay.

Before you arrive

Booking, deposit and formalities

Yes. It is €150 for the studios (Studio Happy, Studio Relax, Studio Zen) and €300 for the apartments.

It is paid by bank card, through a secure payment link sent to you on the day of your arrival:

  • stays of fewer than 7 nights: card pre-authorisation with no charge, released automatically 7 days after it is taken;
  • stays of 7 nights or more: temporary charge, refunded after your departure. As a pre-authorisation can only be held for 7 days, it cannot cover a longer stay.

The access details for your accommodation are sent to you once the deposit has been paid and the arrival form completed.

Our check-in is entirely self-service: keys are not handed over in person, so we have no other way of verifying the identity of the person staying.

Before your arrival, we ask you to fill in an online form and attach a photo of an identity document.

This requirement applies to all guests and the access details are only sent once it has been met. The data is kept for the period required by the regulations.

Please also note that the communal areas of the building are under video surveillance.

Times and keys

Arrival and departure

No, we do not offer early check-in. The accommodation can be accessed from 4 pm.

We are a small business and use an external cleaning company, which also works in other buildings. We therefore do not control the order or exact timing of its visits, and 4 pm is the time by which we can guarantee accommodation that is fully cleaned and ready to welcome you.

If you would like to arrive in the morning, we recommend also booking the night before: the accommodation is then reserved for you from the previous day and you can access it at whatever time suits you.

If you need to wait until 4 pm, there are several luggage storage facilities nearby (see the question on luggage).

Yes. Check-in is entirely self-service: you can arrive at any time after 4 pm, including late in the evening.

If you arrive after 10 pm, we simply ask you to keep noise to a minimum in the communal areas, walkways and stairs, out of respect for the other occupants of the building.

Keys are not handed over in person. Check-in is self-service:

  • an access code lets you into the building;
  • the keys to your accommodation are in a secure key box, next to the door of your apartment.

The access details are sent to you on the day of your arrival, once the formalities have been completed (deposit and arrival form).

No, we do not offer late check-out. The accommodation must be vacated by 10 am at the latest.

We are a small business and use an external cleaning company, which also works in other buildings: we control neither the order nor the timing of its visits.

It needs to be able to access the accommodation at the scheduled time to get it fully ready before the next guests arrive. Even when the accommodation is not let again straight away, we therefore cannot guarantee a later departure.

If your train or flight leaves later, there are several luggage storage facilities nearby (see the next question).

We do not have luggage storage at Le Pavillon Bleu. However, there are two Radical Storage points nearby:

The cleaning fee covers a standard clean after your departure. We simply ask you to:

  • leave the accommodation in a reasonable overall condition;
  • leave the dishes clean and put away;
  • strip the beds and gather the used sheets and towels on the floor in the bedroom;
  • take the rubbish to the designated area on the ground floor;
  • switch off the lights, close the windows and lock the door;
  • put the key back in the secure key box and scramble the dials.

Any additional cleaning time made necessary by an unusual level of dirt or mess is charged at €30 per hour or part thereof and may be deducted from the deposit.

Getting to Le Pavillon Bleu

Access and parking

Yes. Le Pavillon Bleu is at 15 rue des Pyrénées, right in the heart of Lourdes: the perfect compromise between being close to the Sanctuary and the shops of the town centre.

Everything is within walking distance, in under 10 minutes:

  • the Sanctuary: about 9 minutes;
  • place Marcadal, with its shops, restaurants and cafés: about 5 minutes;
  • the Halles de Lourdes: about 5 minutes.

If you are coming by car, you can therefore leave it parked for your whole stay and make the most of the town: there is a free car park at place des Pyrénées, about 3 minutes’ walk away.

The railway station is about fifteen minutes’ walk away, or can be reached by bus from the Rotonde, Marcadal or Halles – Office de Tourisme stops, all close by.

For your day trips, the Pyrenees National Park and the ski resorts are about an hour’s drive away.

From Lourdes railway station (SNCF), Le Pavillon Bleu is about fifteen minutes’ walk away. By bus, we recommend:

  • to get to Le Pavillon Bleu, lines L1 or L2: get off at the Marcadal stop (about 5 minutes’ walk) or the Halles – Office de Tourisme stop (about 6 minutes’ walk);
  • to return to the station, line L5: the Rotonde stop is 100 metres from Le Pavillon Bleu and the station is reached in about twelve minutes.

From Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport:

  • line TL: get off at the Halles – Office de Tourisme stop (about 6 minutes’ walk);
  • airport shuttle: it serves the railway station and then the Paradis stop, about 10 minutes’ walk from Le Pavillon Bleu. Most of the steep climb on this route can be avoided by using the public lift.

More information (taxi numbers, car hire, bus lines and timetables) is available on the airport website.

To plan your journey and check timetables, visit the TLP Mobilités website. Some lines do not run on Sundays or public holidays.

The Sanctuaries of Lourdes are about 9 minutes’ walk from Le Pavillon Bleu.

The route involves some uphill walking. A public lift, about 3 minutes’ walk from Le Pavillon Bleu, lets you avoid much of the slope of rue de la Grotte.

No. However, you can stop briefly in front of the building to drop off passengers and luggage.

There are several free parking options nearby:

Parking in the surrounding streets may also be free where no signs indicate restrictions or charges.

No. The building has no lift and the accommodation can only be reached by stairs.

Allow for about 20 steps per floor:

  • 1st floor, about 20 steps: Studio Happy, Studio Relax, Studio Zen, Le Jardin Secret;
  • 2nd floor, about 40 steps: Côté Pyrénées, Côté Cour, Le Balcon Fleuri;
  • 3rd floor, about 60 steps: Le Belvédère.

This may be important if you are travelling with bulky luggage or have difficulty climbing stairs.

We prefer to be transparent: our old building and our accommodation were not designed or adapted to provide suitable accessibility. There is no lift, access is by stairs only and some areas may be awkward to move around in.

If your stay requires step-free access, a lift or specific equipment, we sincerely recommend choosing a specially adapted establishment, which will offer you greater comfort and independence.

If you would nevertheless like to stay at Le Pavillon Bleu, we will gladly send you the exact details of the access and the accommodation before you book.

In your accommodation

Accommodation and amenities

Yes. The beds are made up before your arrival and bed linen is provided.

As for towels, we provide:

  • 1 large bath towel per person;

  • bin bags;
  • a sponge and basic cleaning supplies;
  • shampoo and shower gel in 30 ml bottles;

For toiletries, we provide a kit for two people.

This is a starter kit, enough for the first few days. It is not replenished during your stay: the shops on place Marcadal are about 5 minutes’ walk away.

  • Studios (Studio Happy, Studio Relax, Studio Zen): Nespresso machine.
  • Apartments: Philips Senseo machine, which takes Senseo or compatible pods.

All the accommodation also has a cafetière.

A few coffees are provided in the welcome kit to start your stay. After that, restocking is up to you: there is a Carrefour City 5 minutes’ walk away.

Yes. An iron and an ironing board are available in the accommodation.

No. The accommodation does not have air conditioning.

However, fans are provided: one per bedroom in the apartments, one per studio.

The radiators are set to a maximum temperature of 20 °C. This setting is fixed and cannot be changed.

When a radiator has just been switched on, allow about an hour for the room to reach its normal temperature.

No. The accommodation does not have a washing machine.

Self-service launderettes are about 5 to 10 minutes’ walk away.

Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available in all the accommodation.

The network name and password are sent to you with your arrival details.

Place Marcadal, about 5 minutes’ walk away, has most of the shops you will need: Carrefour City, a bakery, a pharmacy, a café, a brasserie and other local shops.

The Halles de Lourdes are also nearby for fresh and regional produce.

Living together

Families and house rules

Yes, in all the accommodation except Studio Happy and Studio Relax, which are too small for a travel cot to be set up.

We offer a baby kit for €10 per stay, set up before your arrival: travel cot, high chair, baby bath and changing mat.

The price is the same whether you use all or only part of the kit.

All guests are asked to keep quiet between 10 pm and 7 am. The building is old and sound carries easily through the stairs and floors: everyone is asked to be mindful of noise from footsteps, chairs and luggage.

Parties and events are not allowed, and only the people declared at the time of booking may stay in or be received in the accommodation.

No. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in the accommodation and in all communal areas of the building, including the walkways and the courtyard.

No. Pets are not allowed in the accommodation, whatever their size.

This ban does not apply to guide dogs or assistance dogs with the right of access provided for by French law. There is no extra charge for them.
